Photo Capture of receipts... I saw this feature in one of the "free" but requires monthly subscribtion apps. Pretty handy.

Entering mileage and being able to enter a reimbursement rate would be helpful.

I find the default behavior of the add record function to be confusing. If you hit the plus sign button to add a new record to an Expense Log, but do not enter any information for $ amount or description, it you select the left arrow to return to the expense log, a transaction with the amount of $0 and a blank description is created.

To avoid this, the user must actually select the trash can and delete a transaction with $0 and no description--this is confusing since I never actually added the record in the first place.

I think it would be much easier if the application did not create a transaction if the user exits the Edit Record screen without providing either an amount or a description (if they provide one or the other, they probably intend to update later, but if neither is entered, they probably hit the plus sign to add a record by mistake).

For me iSpend is not really useable before it will be possible to:
- choose the currency on for the single expense! It is normal when you are travelling that you pay the flight ticket in another currency than your hotel room, isn't it!
- csv export per category

I am considering purchasing iSpend, but it is lacking a few essential features for a regular (international) business traveler:

1. Need to be able to set the currency of *individual* expense items. Trips often span several continents/countries and even if I visit just one foreign country, the trip starts from my home country and the first and last expenses tend to be in the home rather than the foreign currency.

2. Need to be able to keep a log of mileage. I often drive to the airport. I'd like to be able to enter the number of miles and have the software automatically work out the expense, given the standard mileage rate.

3. I need to keep track of the payment form (cash, check, what credit card, etc.).

Like another poster pointed out ... able to capture an image of your receipt and link it to your entry. This is VERY important as accounting must SEE the real thing, not just an entry.

We all know that receipts can be lost, so this is a backup when you are ripping your breafcase apart trying to find those small petty cash receipts that added up to $400.00+ on your last trip.

I miss a few things which should be easy to add:
Right after creating a new expense report I need to enter a few additional informations:

Reason for the trip
Start date
End date

If I could enter that directly in iSpend I could use the expense report for my bookkeeping and taxreturn.

Would be great to see that in a future release!

Good suggestions all around. Input on the photo-receipts feaure would be good. Presently apps are very limited in the use of photos. We can easily add a button to take a picture of the receipt, but there is no way to attach it to a report, for example, or to send it in an email, other than using Apple's camera app. In fact, it seems there is little functionality that can be added to ispend that will do much more than you can already do just by snapping a picture of the receipt from the camera app. Of course we will look into this further, and I personally believe that Apple will be gradually increasing the facilities available to developers. If anyone has other apps that do a good job in this regard, please chime in.
